Originally from New Orleans, Jake made his way to New York City for a career in advertising and film, but he soon felt drawn to the natural beauty and tranquility of the Catskills. In 2017, he began distilling gin as a weekend hobby, inspired by the hands-on process and the potential to create something tangible and flavorful.
When the pandemic halted his production work in 2020, Jake seized the opportunity to turn Isolation Proof into a full-time endeavor. He transformed his barn in Bovina Center into a distillery, pouring his creativity and curiosity into crafting small-batch gins that reflect the rugged, earthy essence of upstate New York.
With each bottle, Jake and his team aim to bottle the magic of the Catskills, combining sustainable practices, locally foraged ingredients, and a bold spirit-forward approach. Today, Isolation Proof is known for pushing the boundaries of gin, using unique seasonal ingredients like ramps, mushrooms, and heirloom tomatoes.
